5 events happening this weekend that we think look cool - for Halloween lovers.

Obviously, we speak for everyone when we say how devastated we are that the Ed Sheeren gig was cancelled. Fortunately there are literally hundreds of decent events happening this weekend to fill the huge void that left in us. As usual, loads of boss things are happening at Halloween, so many we couldn't even cover them all here. We'll be doing two lists of things we want you to be aware of this weekend - one for Halloween lovers and one for Halloween haters. This one here's for the pumpkin-spiced grown-children who are looking to trick or treat:

Great Korea Beer Festival

The annual Great Korean Beer Festival is coming up to it’s ninth consecutive year, and 2017’s event will be Halloween focused.

As well as a huge range of independently produced craft beers, there will be food pairings, live music and a prize for the best costumed people there (you don’t have to do that though, if you want to just go and drink delicious beer.)

GKBF2017 will be taking place over Friday, Saturday and Sunday so it’s easy to work around your schedule.

Halloween Live Jazz Night

Speaking of events that are covering the whole weekend, Boogie Woogie are doing a two-night jazz special to celebrate Halloween.

Both nights are full of bands who are “full of swing”, according to BW. The Friday night features the likes of 홍의선 Quartet, Leo Kim’s Power Trio and Brian Shin and the Swing Makers. These three bands spanning standard jazz, fusion jazz and Dixieland Jazz.

The Saturday night features 김참치 Trio, S2F2 and ROZZ BAND. This night is especially appealing as the bands cover brass jazz, swing jazz and soul/funk fusion so the atmosphere is sure to be lively.

Both nights will be backed by their in-house DJs playing jazz, r’n’b and soul until the late hours. Anyone in costume will get a free shot and the first 100 people on each night will get a free Halloween themed cocktail!

Seoul Shindig

Seoul Shindig returns after a unreasonably lengthy absence. Their semi-legendary Halloween Ball returns this year with a huge range of retro disco, indie, funk, soul and the visceral cuts that will really get you going.

As well as a bunch of resident DJs they’ll be welcoming back old favorite and Shindig Original – The Baron.

To sweeten the deal, there’s free shots for anyone in fancy dress.

Feminist Halloween Party

The awesome team behind B-Girls will be holding a Halloween Party that keeps feminist principles at the forefront.

B-Girls is a group of progressively minded women who are using their ever growing network to spread ideas about equality. They’re also focused on creative works both from producing their own art to helping others to do the same.

Their Halloween party aims to subvert traditional Halloween imagery that’s perpetually filtered through it’s suitability to the male gaze. They’ll be doing this by inviting costumes that rethink classic stereotypes.

It looks set to be a fun night with great music, drinks and vegan food and is a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to be more socially conscious and celebrate Halloween.

Still Alive Punk Party

Seoul punk party pistons World Domination Inc will be throwing special Halloween party this week.

They’ve brought in some of Seoul’s coolest bands to play. The ever-fun …Whatever That Means playing their own personal brand of upbeat pop-punk. It’s melodic as hell but also has a sharp edge to it. Dead Buttons, one of our favourite live bands will also be playing. Drawing heavily on blues for their inspiration, Dead Buttons sound like The Black Keys but with more of punk sound. There’ll be no fewer than 6 great bands playing so the lineup is packed.

Entry for the event will be reduced for anyone wearing a costume and WDI insist that a Misfits t-shirt, a name-tag with someone else’s name on it or writing “BOOK” on you face does not count.
