The new single from Sears is an absolute must-hear.

Korean-American band 시어스 (sears) have released the video for their latest single빨간풍선 (Red Balloon) and it’s an absolute killer.

The two-piece formed back in California where Sam Lim was born and Donghoon Han emigrated to as a child. The two have been producing music together since they met about 12 years ago.

The new single빨간풍선 (Red Balloon) is a percussion heavy psych track that boasts some outstanding production work. It’s a song that wears it’s 60s influences firmly on it’s sleeve but that still manages to seem incredibly modern. The nods to Tomorrow Never Knows sit here nicely next to more contemporary references like Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Animal Collective.

The video, produced by the band, is a trippy eave excurvation that uses the imagery of the life cycle of a mushroom to craft it’s pyschadelic atmosphere.

If this track leaves you clamouring for more Sears then be sure to listen to their excellent 24 minute bedroom session.

The video was released via Warner Bros Korea and their album is out now.
