Seoul Jazz Festival’s first lineup announcement is a doozy.

Seoul Jazz Festival’s first lineup announcement is a doozy.

In recent years, Seoul Jazz Festival have established themselves as a serious presence in the Korean capitals live music scene. Their stellar lineups have been bursting at the seams with top quality acts. This year they have outdone themselves with their first lineup announcement of 2018.

Seoul Jazz Festival has become known for two things over the last few years. An increasingly stacked lineup of top-tier acts and an increasingly loose affiliation to the world of Jazz. The 2018 edition of the Olympic Park event looks set to continue this trend with a set of not-quite-jazz but totally great acts already confirmed.

Headlining affairs will be the awesome Ms Lauryn Hill. The ex-Fugee will be performing a set of her classic songs at this year’s event.

Alternative folk star Iron and Wine will also be making an appearance.

SJF have included some of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz among the list of bands announced this morning. Jazz-pop trumpeter Chris Botti was confirmed, as was Latin-jazz Arturo Sandoval, Grammy-winning Gretchen Parlato and iconic jazz-trio Children of the Light.

The full lineup announcement is:

Ms. Lauryn Hill
Chris Botti
Iron and Wine
Clean Bandit
Rhye
Arturo Sandoval and His All-Star Band
Gretchen Parlato
Children of the Light.
