SXSW announce even more Korean acts to appear at 2018 event.
Internationally renowned festival South by Southwest has announced another set of acts due to appear at the event in 2018. Similar to last year, Korean artists feature heavily on this release with an incredible NINE artists listed.
The lineup for SXSW 2018 is starting to take shape following a huge announcement this morning which featured 500 artists set to play at the 2018 instalment of the festival.
Last October, SXSW made its first lineup announcement in which Korean acts feature heavily. Today’s announcement adds a further 9 Korean names to the list bringing the total to 18.
Just as with the first announcement, South by Southwest have largely drawn from Korea’s burgeoning hip-hop scene for 2018. Acts like E SENS, DPR Live and Crush will be joining the likes of Keith Ape and Jay Park representing Korean urban.
This announcement also features some of Korea’s coolest DJs. Seizure-inducing hyper-trance heroes 250 will be playing at the festival. Indie stars turned Hip-hop DJs Glen Check will also be bringing his awesome ethereal sounds to proceedings. Kitsune-featured producer XXX will also be appearing.
Hyukoh and Goonam will be joining the likes of Say Sue Me in representing Korean guitar music.
The number of Korean artists currently announced for SXSW is almost twice as many as 2017. It’s a promising trend for bands and musicians working in Korea.
